A MI man was arrested after the body of his friend, a missing Troy woman, was found wrapped in tarp in the attic of his home, reports CBS Detroit.

Meanwhile, McClanahan claimed that White left that night to visit another friend in Detroit, and he even aided family and friends in the search for the missing woman.

An autopsy conducted by the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Jessica’s death to be a homicide caused by “strangulation by ligature”. Police say the two men have been cooperative in the investigation.

Authorities believe she died April 23, the last day she was seen.

A GoFundMe page was started to raise money for White’s funeral expenses and to help pay back her parents for time lost from work during the search for her.

Investigators say McClanahan lived in the home where White’s body was found Tuesday.

“It’s disturbing to know that this gentleman was assisting the family in attempting to locate a person that he knew [was dead]”, said Hazel Park Police Chief Barner said. ‘We know they have been friends since grade school’.

The suspect’s father, Michael McClanahan, confirmed there was an argument. “I would never have thought something like that would have come from that family”. It’s just a shock.

Karen White, Jessica’s mother, is coming to terms with her daughter’s death.

Police had previously spoken with McClanahan while searching for White, and he’d said he dropped her off at 7 Mile and John R in Detroit.
