Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: Civil War is out now in the United Kingdom, and released May 6 in the US. After the devastation of Sokovia in “Age of Ultron“, world governments come together to call for limits on the autonomy of the Avengers. (Gay director Bryan Singer has included characters like Iceman and Colossus, who were later revealed to be gay in the comics, but oddly has avoided any mention of Mystique’s long established bi-sexuality.) But Marvel Studios presumably still owns the film rights to Young Avengers and long-time couple Wiccan and Hulkling. “He comes into the story as a free radical who can change things or make it complicated or make it surprising, so you just weren’t watching a very linear story about two sides that were working toward this conflict”. There is nothing novel about “Civil War”, but there never had to be.

“The intention is we will change it”, Joe Russo said. This Marvel outing, reuniting most of the Avengers superheroes for a fantastic showdown, is everything an event movie should be: epic, electric and full of unbridled joy.
“Civil War”, the next film in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, opens Friday with Captain America fighting Iron Man alongside a cavalcade of heroes including, for the first time, Spider-Man. And when you do choose sides, we enjoy the movie so much more.
Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, and many more star in this action-packed superhero slam fest. Certainly, “Civil War” handles the material better, but part of that is because of the film’s affection for established characters.
“We have a tough task just telling the stories of the characters who exist [on the big screen] in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, let alone adding the entire Marvel Television universe”.

“The movies are two very different movies”, answered Joe. We suspect that this dead character will be the focus of Civil War II: The Fallen #1, while Civil War II: The Accused #1 will focus on the character responsible for their death. “Sony gets to partake in that success now with proven creative talent breathing much-needed new life into a character that helped kick-start the current wave of superhero blockbusters”. A total of 158 reviews have been counted (or roughly half of what we expect when it’s all said and done), with 146 positive and 12 negative. Daniel Brühl, as always, is great in the role, but still little more than a plot device – as though the screenwriters thought that it would be too dark for the good guys to fracture without a push from a manipulative outsider.
