Alex Iwobi: I have Arsenal blood in my veins
The scout who discovered Arsenal striker Joel Campbell has revealed he received personal congratulations from Arsene Wenger after alerting the north London club to the Costa Rica global.

Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi has reflected on his rapid rise to becoming a first-team regular at Emirates Stadium.
The best thing? He has Arsenal DNA.
Mertesacker, 31, has played in 24 Premier League games for the Gunners this season. “I watched him in the FA Youth Cup previous year and you could always tell there was something special about him”.
The 31-year-old Spain worldwide played an hour for the club’s under-21s against Blackburn Rovers this week, and could return to first-team action for the first time since injuring his knee in December.
While it is unclear as to how much truth is behind Sanchez’s reported desire to leave and secure a fresh challenge elsewhere, it certainly isn’t positive news heading into the summer from an Arsenal perspective.
“As an Arsenal player there is always that motivation [to beat Tottenham]”, he said.
“He used to train with us quite a lot”.
Celebrity Arsenal fan Jack Whitehall had his say on Arsene Wenger during an appearance on Sky Sports, where he compared the Frenchman to a drunken party-goer who doesn’t know when to call it a night.
“You can not blame one person or 11, you just need to look at the club or the people to see what’s missing, and once you get the right answer, you need to perform on the pitch”.

“It was their best chance for a number of years, but unlike Leicester they didn’t hold their nerve when it mattered”, Smith told Omnisport of Arsenal’s failed bid. “[Iwobi] has repaid him well”.
