Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry Backs Donald Trump
Rick Perry told CNN today that he will support Donald Trump’s presidency. “But what I do believe is that he loves this country and he will surround himself with capable, experienced people and he will listen to them”. Ted Cruz of Texas until he dropped out Tuesday, gave Trump his endorsement in an interview Thursday with CNN.

Some have urged Perry to reignite his campaign and run as a third-party candidate, but he dismissed the idea as “quixotic”.
Perry and Trump feuded throughout the early stages of the primary last summer, culminating with Perry’s 3,000-word speech comparing Trump to a “cancer” and “false prophets”.
Trump isn’t Perry’s first choice, he acknowledged, but said the business mogul is “one of the most talented people who has ever run for the president I have ever seen”.
House Speaker Paul Ryan, the highest ranking elected GOP leader, said he was not ready to support Trump Thursday. “I don’t think he’s the best qualified candidate, I don’t think he’s the one most likely to be successful, but I would vote for him over Hillary Clinton”.
“I am going to be open to any way I can help”, Perry said.
Bash asked if he’d be open to being his running mate and Perry responded: “I am going to be open to any way I can help”.
“What Mr. Trump is offering is not conservatism, it is Trump-ism – a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense”, Perry said in a statement in July.
