On Monday’s The Nightly Show, Larry Wilmore responded to backlash from the White House Correspondents Dinner he hosted.
“Yo, Barry, you did it my n–!” he added, pounding his chest before embracing a smiling Obama after the moment. N*gger is the word white people use to denigrate, demean, and dehumanize black people. Wilmore described ending the speech by showing his feelings about President Obama and his being the first black president. Etiquette is elastic. Clashing cultures are often confusing. I believe I said, Yo Barry you did it my nigga. “The president is okay with his use and how he used the word, that the n-word, jigaboo, Negro nation, and thug”, Ryan asked. “This, to me, was just a huge, huge hit on the integrity and the moral force and authority that has been lost by this White House”.
American Urban Radio Networks, reports Josh Earnest, a press secretary for the White House said the leader of the free world “appreciated the spirit of Mr. Wilmore’s expressions on Saturday night”.
Comedian Dave Chappelle couldn’t have made this stuff up in his most brilliant racial satire.
“I feel bad about the Wolf thing”, Wilmore said, “because that came out more negative than I intended”. The next time I heard it after the playground was in high school, when my boss a the local oil company called me a lazy n-er under his breath after I refused to clean the bathroom right after he’d used it. I was a receptionist, not a cleaning person.

One can only wonder which linguistic or cultural taboos will be inadvertently shattered by the next president. “Which stands for jokes that white people should not make”. The vast majority of his jokes fell flat in a room that seemed to be groaning more often than smiling. It was lame, but hardly racist. “I know, stop calling us that!”
