AMD, Nvidia release new DirectX 12-ready GPU drivers for Windows 10

Because numerous features slated for the next release of Windows were often outdated by the time they hit store shelves, Microsoft now wants to release new features as and when they are ready.

With Windows 10, that’s all changed.

Sean Pelletier, Senior Product Manager for Geforce Drivers of NVIDIA, said on the NVIDIA Blog, “We’re demonstrating our commitment to DirectX 12 through our close collaboration with game developers”.

A hidden Windows 10 feature allows users to hide and ignore mandatory Windows 10 updates, a feature that could have come in handy for Windows Insiders this weekend plagued with a glitchy Nvidia driver update.

Nvidia GeForce driver version 353.62 for Windows is compatible with Nvidia GeForce graphics adapters based on Fermi, Kepler and Maxwell architectures. Though, people who installed and tested the Windows 10 OS found the update mechanism to be forceful.

The change to how Windows is updated is likely because Microsoft has switched its philosophy. You can download these new drivers from the link we have provided for you above.

Last month Microsoft raised eyebrows when a page on its site revealed that users of the Home edition – the one aimed at the general consumer market – will have all updates downloaded automatically.

Windows 10 by default has no option for selecting or blocking any new updates and new features.

The idea behind this new tool is that if a certain update is troublesome or causes instability, a user can uninstall it and then run the tool afterwards to stop Windows 10 from automatically reinstalling every time the system is restarted. After the software is installed, users can go through the setup to select which updates to block or hide.

If it’s a faulty Windows update, and not a driver, that is causing problems, you can type View Installed Updates in the search box or Cortana box.
