Browns Trade #2 Draft Pick to Eagles; Browns Move to #8

After several days of speculation that the Cleveland Browns would trade the No. 2 overall pick in next week’s NFL Draft, the team finally provided an answer. While the Eagles say they are unsure who will be the first overall selection, it appears more and more likely that Philly will end up with North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz at No. 2. Sandwiched between the two Eagles’ trades was the Los Angeles Rams’ move from the 15th overall selection up to the top pick in the Draft, sending several picks to the Tennessee Titans for compensation.

The Eagles traded up for the No. 2 pick in the draft just one day after Sam Bradford said about the possibility: “If it happens, it’s something I’ll deal with”. “They were guys that we watched and dealt with, talked to, but at the same time, I said a long time ago we’re going to do what we feel is right for our organization moving forward”. They also receive a fourth-round pick next year.

The Philadelphia Eagles may be putting Sam Bradford on the trading block soon, with reports that their $36 million quarterback is asking to be moved to a new team after the Eagles jumped up in the draft to find his eventual replacement. Roseman said three things that telegraphed what the plan was and no one has to be an especially good detective to follow those leads. “We intend to support him and the moves we made this offseason we believe will give us a chance to compete this season”. The added selections gives Cleveland 12 picks in the 2016 National Football League draft, half of which are in the top 100.

Who got the better of Wednesday’s Eagles-Browns trade?

Furthermore, if the Eagles trade Bradford, he’ll count on the Eagles’ cap for $11 million, and it’s not as if he’s going to take a pay cut. So, at this point, he’s really on a two-year, $24 million deal.

On Tuesday, Bradford said he wasn’t anxious with the prospect of the Eagles taking a quarterback at the top of the first round.

The Browns would then head into the 2018 season with two young, talented quarterbacks who can play the position in the same manner.

All this while gushing over the rookie QB they’re about to draft – either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz.

“As always, there are risks when you are drafting any quarterback, even if you are drafting a quarterback in the first or second slot in the first round, that they pan out or don’t”.
