The FBI Has Interviewed Hillary Clinton Aides Over Email Investigation

On Wednesday, federal judge Emmet Sullivan said Ms Clinton could be required to testify about her private e-mail system as part of a freedom of information act lawsuit brought by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch.

The probe has focused on the security of the Clinton server and whether classified information was exchanged. Judge Sullivan, who was appointed by Bill Clinton to the federal court, clearly disagrees. He exchange his cooperation for immunity sometime past year.

The person insisted on anonymity Thursday to discuss an ongoing investigation. David Kendall, an attorney for Clinton, had no comment.

Top Clinton officials may also need to appear, including Donald Reid, Huma Abedin, Stephen Mull, Cheryl Mills, Patrick Kennedy, Bryan Pagliano, and Lewis Lukens.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is likely to interview Hillary Clinton in the next few weeks about her use of a private email server while she was USA secretary of state and have already interviewed some of her aides, CNN reported on Thursday. Clinton’s spokesman has said repeatedly she is willing to sit down with investigators. The judge also ruled to get testimony over the next eight weeks from seven of Clinton’s aides and State Department staffers.

Ms Abedin had co-operated with investigators, who had not found evidence that proved Ms Clinton willfully violated the law, it added.

FBI agents on the case have been joined by federal prosecutors from the same office that successfully prosecuted 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui – and who would handle any Edward Snowden case, should he ever return to the country, according to the US officials familiar with the matter.

The attorney general and the Federal Bureau of Investigation director have offered no deadline for their review.

The FBI has already interviewed some of Clinton’s aides, including Huma Abedin, the vice chairwoman of Clinton’s presidential campaign, CNN reported on Thursday. He was recently extradited to the USA and faces nine charges for various alleged cyber crimes. Ms. Abedin was cool to the idea of using an official Blackberry, saying it “doesn’t make a whole lot of sense”.

Other previously unreleased emails are dated March 18, 2009, despite suggestions by Clinton that she had turned over emails with that date.

A federal judge has ruled that former Secretary of State and a U.S. presidential nominee Hillary Clinton may necessarily have to depose in a case against her that took place during her tenure in the State Department.

Sullivan said the officials could be asked details about processing and responding to record requests as well as issues such as which State Department officials and employees had used an account on the clintonemail.com system to conduct official government business.

The interviews took place over the past several weeks.
