“Next season will be hard, but we’re aiming to finish in 10th place or higher”.

Ranieri suggested a surprise title victor only comes along roughly once every 20 years, pointing to the examples of Nottingham Forest in 1978 and Blackburn Rovers in 1995.

“How many years after Nottingham Forest and Blackburn have another team won?” said Ranieri.

“The richest will win or who can pick up the best players to make a team”.

The Foxes have completed their remarkable Premier League title success with two games to spare, and thoughts are already beginning to turn towards next season.

Speaking about the role of Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri in the squad’s incredibly successful season, Rev. Hulley said he had “worked wonders” with the team.

“It has a special flavour, I’m very happy and want to say thank you to all my players, the chairman, staff and fans. Too many. Not everyone can be Sir Alex Ferguson, (Fabio) Capello, (Carlo) Ancelotti, you are having a very good career'”. No. I don’t think we can but we want to continue to build. When I came here, the project was to build a foundation and to fight for the Europa League in three to four years.

Ranieri signed a three-year contract last year after succeeding Nigel Pearson as manager and said that he was in no hurry to sign a new deal.

“I don’t know whether they’re going to be challenging at the top again”, Smith told Omnisport.

“But now he is a champion of England and we couldn’t be prouder”.

Leicester will receive the trophy after Saturday’s final home game of the campaign with Everton while an open top bus parade in the city is planned for immediately after the end of the season.
