Roy Hodgson in contract decision U-turn
England manager Roy Hodgson has questioned whether the decision on his future should be delayed until after Euro 2016.

“He caused a lot of problems and I think he is going to be a big player for them”, the defender told the press.
“The Euro 2016 (arrangement) suits me perfectly well at the moment”. Whether that is the right thing I don’t know.
Benitez was manager of Liverpool when they signing 15-year-old English sensation Raheem Sterling from Queen Park Rangers, but the two never got to work together as the Spaniard left the club just a few months after his arrival. I haven’t spoken to Martin yet.
“I don’t quite know what the situation is”.
“So I think the past history of giving England managers long, long contracts, I can see why it gives certainty, but I like to have a bit of uncertainty to encourage people to go that extra yard to get results”. “In answer to the question ‘would you like to continue working with this team?’, I suppose the answer has got to be ‘yes”.
Hodgson wants the Football Association to extend his contract beyond next summer’s European Championship finals.
Yet after England’s woeful performance in the World Cup Finals last year and their appalling record in tournaments on foreign soil since 1990, many believe Hodgson will not be offered the new deal.
“It is a wonderful job and, if the FA want me to continue with it, I would be happy to do so”.
England, who are unbeaten in 11 games, are in full control of qualifying Group E, having won each of their six matches so far, giving them a sizeable six point lead at the summit.
The 20-year-old, who has played for England 16 times under Hodgson, impressed as he scored in his first outing in a City shirt during their friendly against Roma last week.
Previous to the World Cup draw in St Petersburg, Hodgson had been on holiday in the United States and away from FA business – part of the reason that Glenn’s comments caught him on the hop. It’s as simple as that.

“I think if anything that will now help him to mature and improve even more”.
