Democrats tie Trump to GOP Senate candidates

Mr. Ryan, who is also chairman of the Republican National Convention, has repeatedly said he would support his party’s nominee.

“I’m not there right now”, Ryan told CNN on Thursday when asked about backing Trump. In an interview with MSNBC, he said he will “probably go the political route”, adding that he wants someone who can “help me get legislation passed”.

“I hope to, though, and I want to”, Ryan said.

“I think what is required is that we unify this party”.

After a stunning victory in the in primary that made him the Republican presumptive nominee, 69-year-old Trump did not hint at any names but said most likely his deputy would have political experience.

Trump, who is running unopposed for the nomination after Ted Cruz and John Kasich both dropped out of the race this week, is the party’s presumptive nominee and will likely square off against Democrat Hillary Clinton in the general election.

What is curious about this is that Ryan, for months, has said he intends to back the Republican nominee – even if it’s Trump.

Ryan said he wants Trump to unify “all wings of the Republican Party and the conservative movement”, and then run a campaign that will allow Americans to “have something that they’re proud to support and proud to be a part of”. “And we have work to do one this front, and I think our nominee has to lead in that effort”. “This has been, in many ways, an nearly disastrous and embarrassing chapter for the Republican Party”.

Ryan acknowledged the mogul had “tapped into something in this country that was very powerful”. Patty Murray, is the latest of several Republican officials in the state who have become vocal in their opposition to Trump. He’s offered to counsel Trump on foreign policy.

That said, Ryan has been critical of Trump’s opinions on a variety of topics.

“My job is to be impartial, and I’m going to do that”, she said.

Indeed for all of the controversies he’s stoked and every voter group he’s offended while appealing to enough white Republican men to emerge as the GOP nominee, women could be Trump’s biggest problem this fall, and the biggest problem for Senate Republicans.

Neither Ryan nor Johnson mentioned Trump during the campaign event or fielded reporters’ questions afterward. “Mr Trump has agreed to be available to raise money”.
