Golden State Warriors: 5 Takeaways From Game 2 vs. Blazers
It wasn’t until 5:33 left in the fourth quarter, when Thompson nailed three of his game-high 27 points to give Golden State their first lead of the game, which led to a 2-0 series lead after the 110-99 victory at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Curry returned from an ankle injury before hurting his knee on April 24 when he slipped on the court shortly before halftime of a Game 4 victory against the Houston Rockets in the playoffs’ first round. “He’s gotten better and better each day”. “Guys like Draymond and everybody on the team come over and wrap their hands around me like, ‘We’ve got you.’ And that’s very comforting to me, and it motivates me more than anything”. I know I have to come out, bring energy for the team, block shots, rebound … and those bring energy.
Curry has said previously that he thought he would be able to make a return before the original two weeks evaluation time that was given.
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been ruled out of Game 3 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.
“He’s doing pretty well”, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before Tuesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, over whom the Warriors own a 1-0 series lead.
Portland won’t say its chances in this series are done, but it’s clearly going to be tough to overcome a 2-0 hole against the Warriors.
Golden State held Portland to 12 points in the fourth quarter, including just 8 points in the final nine minutes of play. We were just locked in on both sides of the ball.
Curry went through a workout Tuesday near the end of the team’s morning shootaround, but did so behind a closed curtain at the team’s practice facility. Once down 17 points- and as much as 11 in the fourth- Golden State got back in the game by out scoring the Blazers 34-12 in the fourth quarter.
From the first to the third quarter of Game 2, the Warriors seemed ready to allow the Blazers to even the series at 1-1.
The Golden State Warriors headed into the fourth quarter facing the largest deficit they’ve encountered in the entirety of the playoffs.
Lillard and McCollum, who combined to shoot 13 for 43 in Game 1, went 17 for 39.
If you were holding out hope for Stephen Curry to play in Game 3 against the Portland Trail Blazers, don’t hold your breath.
Kerr said Curry won’t be back in the lineup until he can show solid progress.

“We’d be dead without him”, he said, per the San Francisco Chronicle.
