Windows 10 Upgrades Will Cost $119 Starting From July
The following day, users will be able to buy new Windows 10 devices or purchase a full version of Windows 10 Home Edition for just $119. While many of these are likely to be enterprise users who aren’t eligible for the free upgrade anyway, there is sure to be a good number of home users still running Windows 7. When it announced changes like Windows-as-a-Service and the Universal Windows Platform in January 2015, the company also announced it would be offering Windows 10 as a free upgrade for one year following its July 2015 launch.

“Details are still being finalised, but on July 29th the Get Windows 10 app that facilitates the easy upgrade to Windows 10 will be disabled and eventually removed from PCs worldwide”. However, the opportunity for users to upgrade to the latest version of Windows for free will be ending soon.
The app has been up to other things as well, including secretly downloading the huge install files and taking up your hard drive space or in some cases actually upgraded your software without your permission. Its newest OS has already outpaced Windows 7 by almost 140% and Windows 8 by almost 400%. If you want Windows 10, and you haven’t yet upgraded (perhaps because you’re waiting for the Anniversary Update), you only have until the end of July to act. Will you be upgrading before the free period ends? Over 9 billion hours of games have been played on Windows 10 since launch.
It seems to be working: Microsoft also announced today that there are 300 million active devices – mainly PCs, but also some tablets and smartphones – running Windows 10. The updates are free for all users.
Instead the Windows 10 notification offers two dialogue boxes, with the options – “Update Now” or “Update Tonight”.
According to the tech giant, more than 63 billion minutes were spent on Microsoft Edge in March.

It appears that the free upgrade to Windows 10 has indeed served its objective as consumers have embraced Windows 10 a lot faster than Windows 7 or Windows 8. Cortana has answered over 6 billion questions.
