New LEGO Dimensions Story Trailer Released
Lord Vortech desires an ancient power that would allow him to rule over the entirety of the Lego Multiverse and he has recruited a large number of other Lego villains (from various Lego worlds) to help him accomplish his task. While the game is playable with exclusively Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle, expansion packs will add new LEGO to play with, as well, with each introducing their own unique abilities. One of the more nefarious characters to inhabit the Lego Multiverse is Lord Vortech, a new character created specifically for “Lego Dimensions“.

The plot follows the evil mastermind as he seeks out the planet’s Foundational Elements in his bid to control the multiverse. Naturally it’s up to the heroes to stop him, including Batman, Wyldestyle from the “Lego Movie” and Gandalf the Grey from “Lord of the Rings”.
Between Lego Dimensions’ September 27 release date and the end of the year, you’ll have spent more than $650 if you want to collect the complete set.
LEGO Dimensions, the upcoming entertainment experience that merges physical brick building with interactive console gameplay, will include gameplay from “The Simpsons”, “Doctor Who”, Ghostbusters, Portal, Jurassic World, Midway Arcade, LEGO Chima and “Scooby-Doo!”
This is explained by way of a “mysterious and powerful vortex” that appears out of nowhere, sweeping characters from the various franchises away into another universe. But how all those worlds and characters got so mixed up in Lego Dimensions is partly revealed in the game’s latest trailer. Our heroes must travel through space and time to rescue their friends before the vortexes destroy all of LEGO humanity.

While it might not win any story innovation prizes, I am totally suckered in by LEGO Dimensions. The toys-to-life genre is massive for kids, although the Star Wars iteration of Disney Infinity will probably be purchased more by adult fans, but LEGO is something that appeals to people of all ages.
