6 family members killed in Syracuse blaze
A fire in the city of Syracuse Friday morning has killed six people, four of which were school-aged children, and the death toll is one of the worst the city has seen in decades.

Officials said eight people lived in the home.
Syracuse fire officials have confirmed that a seven year old girl, three males ages ten, 12, 13 and two adult males died in the fire. She was taken to a hospital.
The two men who died were 33 and 34 years old, Galloway said. Firefighters found two victims downstairs and the other four upstairs.
According to Syracuse Fire Chief Paul Linnertz. the fire started at 4 a.m. Friday morning.
Flames were so intense it took crews 30 minutes to put them out. Officials initially said all six fire victims were in the same family, but Galloway later said investigators were still working to confirm identities and relationships.
No other information was released.Sebira Pehlic told The Syracuse Post-Standard that she heard a boom about an hour after returning home from work at 3 a.m. Friday.
Officials have not identified the victims, saying only that they were all members of the same family.

Neighbors told syracuse.com that they heard an explosion, and that by the time they got outside the home was fully engulfed in flames.
