Police say Toridl shot and killed his estranged wife, Gladys Tordil, 44, Thursday afternoon at High Point High School in Beltsville.
All schools in Montgomery County are sheltering in place at the request of police, county schools officials said in a statement.
A plainclothes officer spotted Tordil in a Dunkin’ Donuts store. Gladys Tordil was a science teacher at a nearby high school.
Manger says there’s no immediate connection between Tordil and the shooting victims Friday.
He had been suspected of killing his wife and shooting a bystander on Friday in Prince George’s County, Maryland. It said he agreed to pay the government $15,900. He was put on administrative duties in March after a protective order was issued against him. He had earlier threatened to “commit suicide by cop” and authorities wanted to make sure the public was safe when he was arrested.
U.S. records show that Tordil had been in legal trouble before.
A set of leg cuffs is passed to another officer as Eulalio Tordil is taken into custody.
The first shooting occurred Thursday at a high school. Police later tweeted that the woman has died.
The D.C. Beltway Snipers, who killed 10 people in 2002, passed through the area, said Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy at the news conference.
Gladys alleged that Eulalio “has been subjecting them to intense military-like discipline – push ups, detention in dark closet”, according to the order. He was subsequently placed on administrative leave. Tordil is an employee of the Federal Protective Service, which provides security at federal properties.
Police say a two people are dead and two others are wounded after two shootings at a mall and a shopping center in the Washington suburbs.
The grocery store where Friday’s fatal shooting took place was located in Aspen Hill. A woman who was shot in a second shooting in Aspen Hill after the mall incident has died. It’s not clear if the shootings are connected.

Authorities have not said that Tordil was responsible for the mall or shopping centre shooting, only that they are looking into the possibility that all three are related. Police arrived at the Westfield Montgomery Mall parking lot at around 11 a.m. ET and found the three victims, Montgomery County assistant chief Darryl McSwain said during a briefing. Piringer says he does not know their conditions.
