The Anti-Batman V Superman: Captain America: Civil War Reviewed

But there was something about “Captain American: Civil War” that made me want to see it on the first day. “We had to. We start shooting in November, two movies back to back”.

This is the thirteenth film in the MCU and it’s directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo who also directed the second Captain America movie, The Winter Soldier. “If Marvel Heroes 2016 hasn’t won you over yet as a new player, all of this great new content just might do the trick”. The new players in town are the vibranium suit-wearing Wakandan prince T’Challa aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (Tom Holland). having seen the film last week, I can say it is a dream come true for any comic book lover.

Civil War is the superhero movie we’ve been waiting for this year. After all the outrage over the casualness with which entire cities were shown to be flattened or blown up at the end of every other blockbuster (think Transformers, Man of Steel, Avengers), some recent films have attempted to address the consequences of such widespread destruction. Whether you’re Team Captain America or Team Iron Man boils down to one thing you’ll need to answer for yourself – should the Avengers be governed and controlled by an outside force? Iron Man, the practical businessman in real life, is OK with it.

Chris Evans is flawless as “Captain America, ‘ and equally ideal is his counterpart, ‘Tony Stark / Iron Man, ‘ played by Robert Downey Jr”.

It leads to some profound, painful, memorable moments, but anyone looking for something like the first “Avengers,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”, or even “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” are bound to be disappointed. Their superhero buddies take sides depending on whom they agree with philosophically, with some old friends from previous Marvel movies joining in the mix. For all anyone knows, that origin movie will set him up to be part of the Infinity War canvas as well.

Although there’s plenty of action, the movie doesn’t overwhelm by providing more action than plot. Seeing Spider-Man fight Captain America is fun.

Talking during an appearance at the Smithsonian Institute, the directors reportedly mentioned Captain Marvel as one of the heroes we’ll see in Avengers: Infinity War. It would have been easy to lose Cap in a movie this busy, but he remains the heart of Civil War and his relationship with Bucky the film’s lifeblood.
