Sanders threatens floor fight at Dem convention
After this week, it is mathematically impossible for Sanders to reach the number of delegates necessary to win the Democratic nomination using pledged delegates alone.

Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appear to be in a tight race in IN, where the Vermont senator desperately needs a win to stay competitive in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. After 2 hours the votes between the Democratic candidates began to shift from a marginal lead in Clinton’s favor to a Sanders victory.
About three-quarters of Democrats consider Clinton’s policies realistic, while 6 in 10 say the same of Sanders.
But if you want to reduce the Dem race to *just* pledged delegates, Clinton’s current delegate lead is THREE TIMES the size of Obama’s in 2008 (when it hovered around 100).
“We intend to fight for every vote in front of us and for every delegate remaining”, Sanders said on Sunday, which happened to be the one-year anniversary of his bid for the White House.
The May 3 poll had Sanders in the lead 45 percent to Secretary Hillary Clinton’s 37 percent with Democratic and independent voters, with 18 percent undecided.
“I know that the Clinton campaign thinks this campaign is over”.
The final stretch: With just more than one month before the California primary brings an end to the primary contests on June 7, Clinton is likely to lose a few more states to Sanders, even as she remains on track to accept the Democratic nod at the Philadelphia convention in July.
Trump pulled off a five-state sweep in last week’s Northeastern Republican primaries, with Clinton winning four states, the exception being Rhode Island.
“The rhetoric from each group has gotten harsher, and I think that’s not constructive”, said Maibeth-Mortimer, 26.
The prospect of a procedural wrench thrown into the party’s flagship event is likely to cause headaches for Democratic leaders trying to forge a united front against Donald Trump, the likely Republican nominee.
Later, during a raucous rally with Latino supporters in Monterey Park, Clinton devoted much of her remarks to what a Trump presidency might mean for Hispanics.
“Exit poll after exit poll has shown that Democrats are excited and engaged about this primary”, she said.
Becky Hollenberg, a 32-year-old attorney with the YWCA in Elkhart where she helps people get protective orders against their abusers, said she voted for front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Luis Miranda, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said “because the party’s platform is a statement of our values, the DNC is committed to an open, inclusive and representative process”.
