In contrast to Obama, Trump says UK “better off” without EU
US President Barack Obama has called for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his past record to be scrutinized.

Since the outset of his campaign last June, Trump, a bombastic businessman turned reality TV star, suffocated the rest packed GOP field with his unpredictability and incendiary remarks.
“This is not entertainment. It is not a reality show”, he emphasised. “They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first”, Trump said in a statement Thursday.
Obama said voters must scrutinize the positions of all the candidates and decide whether they are plausible, risk war, might upend worldwide relationships or damage the global financial system. “And I think that will be true, I think for the next six months, so you can just file that one”. “It is important that their votes be honored and it is time that we support the party’s presumptive nominee, Donald J. Trump”.
“There is no doubt that there is a debate that’s taking place inside the Republican Party about who they are and what they represent”, Obama added when asked his reaction to House Speaker Paul Ryan’s saying he is not yet ready to back Trump. “Emphasizing the spectacle and the circus, that’s not something we can afford”, he said.
“Their standard bearer at the moment is Donald Trump”, he added.
The billionaire, who saw off 16 rivals in the Republican presidential primary with a strongly anti-immigration agenda, said that his support for Britain leaving the European Union was not a “recommendation” but what he personally believed.
This reluctance from his own party to support Trump comes as Hillary Clinton is seen leading Trump by a large margin in national polls for the general election.
“I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda”, Trump wrote in a statement Thursday. “At some point, there’s going to be a conversation between Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders about how we move toward the convention”.
Obama suggested that Trump’s rise was enabled by a press that focuses on the frivolous.
Ryan explained that the “bulk” of the effort to unify the party should come from Trump, as CNN reported. The American people they’ve got good judgment.
