Bernie Sanders Wins Indiana’s Democratic Primary
“In this critical swing state, it is clear to us that Republicans continue to suffer substantial brand damage amongst all segments of the ascending electorate (younger voters, Hispanics & No Major Party voters) and this presidential campaign has clearly exacerbated these attitudes”, Ryan Tyson, a Republican who serves as the group’s vice president of political operations, wrote in a memo to his members.

Luis Miranda, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, said “because the party’s platform is a statement of our values, the DNC is committed to an open, inclusive and representative process. He is choking like a dog because he is losing so badly”, Trump said.
That means he will stay in the race “until the last vote is cast” after Washington, D.C.’s Democratic primary June 14. He calls both “aggressive attack surrogates on the campaign trail” for Clinton. “They’re wrong”, Sanders said. Sanders won four of those six states. But in some later states, it gets tougher. But these latest numbers indicate a political pivot; Clinton’s fundraising is accelerating while Sanders’ is slowing.
And, remember, he needs two-thirds of all pledged delegates just for a pledged majority.
Democrats across the area kept an eye on several races, both national and local, at a Primary Election night watch party hosted by the Allen County Democrats. While the state has some higher income and educated urban concentrations around the capital, Indianapolis, and a handful of industrial cities, the population is mainly rural and non-Hispanic white (“prairie populists”). The election contests in May offer a total of 235 delegates, including states such as OR, where Sanders believes he can do well. But her pointed comments in Los Angeles were the closest she has come to suggesting Sanders should move on to allow Democrats to concentrate on Trump, who became the presumptive GOP nominee this week after Republicans Ted Cruz and John Kasich ended their campaigns.
Sanders pointed to polls in which he performs better than Clinton against Trump in hypothetical general-election matchups. Less than a week later, Cruz dropped out of the race, putting a very abrupt end to Fiorina’s vice presidential candidacy. “And I intend to do everything that I can to see that this does not happen”. I doubt, however, that “reject the will of the people” will work well as a new Sanders’ campaign slogan. Sanders on Sunday saying that he and Hillary Clinton were heading to a “contested” convention this summer because she will need superdelegates to secure the nomination, even though superdelegates allotted to her in proportion to the popular vote puts her over the top.
Asked about this comment, Sanders was similar to Clinton’s point of view. He said none of his supporters were assigned to the rules committee.
