However, a source told U.S. Weekly that Ripa is planning to exit the show if neither Anderson Cooper nor Andy Cohen becomes Strahan’s replacement.
Regis Philbin famously sat alongside Kelly Ripa on the ABC morning talk show for 10 years between 2001 and 2011 after hosting the show from the very first episode way back in 1983. As they looked at the little mammal, Ripa said “something just flew off of [the armadillo] and into my mouth”.
But when the cohosts tried to announce Strahan’s sendoff show on Friday the 13th, things got a little awkward with the studio audience.

“I find when we tend to not go we tend to win”, Ripa said of their absence from the ceremony. What was once thought to be flawless chemistry between the pint-sized Ripa and her giant NFL Hall of Fame co-host is now being re-examined through a jaded lense – and tension is seen all over in retrospect.

A new report also claims that Strahan has been very hard to work with for awhile now and that Ripa was especially upset of his move to GMA because she predicted it awhile back.
