It’s been a hard week for the former Barcelona boss, with the Champions League exit inviting heavy criticism over the success of his tenure with the Bavarians. According to Bild newspaper, he accused them of taking too long to get his players back to full fitness after injury and contrasted the speed at which Atlético managed to get Diego Godín back, while he still has to cope without the likes of Arjen Robben.

When asked about the reported dispute at a press conference, Guardiola did not deny it had happened, saying that somebody is out to hurt him.

“Why do our injuries always take so long”, said Guardiola, alluding to the Atletico, who was absent in the first leg for a muscle injury, but led the defense of the Spanish club in Munich.

“Those people want to hurt me, but they have not realised that they hit the club, they hit the team”.

“Usually I speak to players, to different departments (of the club) – and I give my opinion”. But I’m not here next season anyway so it’s not my problem, but Bayern’s.

Bayern will be aiming to clinch the Bundesliga title on Saturday afternoon, when they face top-10 hopefuls FC Ingolstadt 04 at Audi-Sportpark.

However, the two-time Champions League winning manager with Barca failed to deliver the continental crown to the five-time European champions in his three years.

Guardiola will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season for Manchester City having never won the Champions League in his three seasons in Bavaria.

Gabi said fate had given Atleti “a good opportunity” and the team was eager to capitalize on it, adding that now is the time for the club to make history by defeating Real Madrid in the final. If people think I have failed, I have to accept that.
