Facebook Intros New Tool for Keeping Its Users Secure

However, Facebook reps clarified the two services are in the same family in terms of how they work by walking Facebook’s billions of users through all the feature options.
The tool will be displayed as a notification that says “Stay Secure on Facebook” and users can either dismiss it or activate it to take advantage of a quick security inspection.
The Security Checkup feature will roll out in the coming weeks, and users will see a “Get Started” option on the top of their News Feed.
Facebook now is providing optional security controls and users can decide how stringent they want to be with their security measures. That way you’re not logged in anywhere you don’t want to be.
Next, you can turn on a feature called login alerts, which lets you know if anyone else tries to log into your account.
After targeting YouTube with the rollout of new video tools, Facebook is now focusing on the security of user accounts by introducing Security Checkup. The third step would give some tips to users as to how they can create a stronger password.
Initial steps include logging out from devices that haven’t been used for Facebook access in awhile as well as email alerts for attempted logins from unfamiliar devices or apps. It also suggests avoiding common words that may be easy to guess.

The first stage in the Security Checkup process basically tells you how you can log-out of any device you haven’t used in a while, perhaps that old Android tablet that’s sitting in the vehicle.
