Heat break Raptors after Lowry heroics
In the Raptors’ 102-96 overtime loss to the Miami Heat, Lowry hit the biggest, craziest shot of the game.

Kyle Lowry went scoreless in the half while Dragic – Lowry’s former backup in Houston – turned up the speed in transition and found eight quick points.
Lowry also struggled, going scoreless in the first half and finishing 3 of 13 for seven points. Lowry, who previously had shot 15 percent in the postseason from 3-point range, almost lost the ball out of bounds, but he recovered it, gathered himself, and produced that miracle.
“It’s kind of mind boggling right now, it’s frustrating”, said Lowry, who has been spending many hours in the gym trying to overcome his shooting slump.
Despite what the Vine might tell you, Lowry, the All-Star point guard and the Raptors’ best player, has been anything but an asset to the Raptors so far these playoffs.
“I unfortunately had a very good look at it”, Wade said.
The series now shifts to Miami for Game 3 on Saturday and Game 4 on Monday. “I passed up a ton of shots”, he said, and that clearly harmed the Raptors’ offense. “But whatever. I gotta do something to find it, and have fun. Now it’s just more of a challenge, that’s all”. Whiteside is a game changer on the defensive end and for a team that relies on attacking the basket it is essential for the Raptors to do their best to take Whiteside away from the basket.
“I know I’m not playing well at all”. “I’m not going to shy away from the criticism or anything I want to continue to be aggressive, shoot shots and take the onus”. I know I’m not playing well at all. “I was just thinking, ‘Damn, he would make this against us.’ I always think the worst in those situations”.
Expect Goran Dragic to produce and lead the Heat from the point in game two. The Toronto Raptors are shooting 27.8 percent from beyond the arc and 76.1 percent from the free throw line. He scored early on a mid-range jump shot then following it up with a attractive pass to Carroll for a three-pointer, and when he tossed up a three-pointer late in the first quarter, the Air Canada Centre crowd went nuts.
Morris Peterson shares his thoughts on Dwyane’s Wade’s Game 1 performance as well as Charles Barkley’s comments about Kyle Lowry, after he said the Raptors point guard should be benched in favour of Cory Joseph.
Lowry maintained that he is fine physically at this point, and the team said he is not receiving any treatment.
“Someone said that before the game”, Raptors head coach Dwane Casey acknowledged the team’s poor record to being a series in the post-game press conference in Toronto. I just have to go out and play. “And that’s what we need for him to do”. Kyle Lowry ran the ball up the court and nailed a half-court shot just as time expired to send the game to overtime. “He gives us so much more than he does just shooting the basketball”.

But teammates and opponents alike said don’t count him out yet. Rookie Norman Powell replaced Patrick Patterson in the Raptors’ starting lineup at power forward, even though he’s only 6-foot-3.
