On Wednesday, the threat of violent storms will extend along an approximate 600-mile-long swath from Missouri and central IL to coastal areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

The severe weather forecast is specifically reported in the areas of Kansas City, Missouri; Omaha, Nebraska; Wichita, Kansas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Austin, Texas; Dallas, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; and Waco, Texas. After Hurricane Patricia’s passing last week, the region was hit with more torrential rain and possible tornadoes.
Rossi says it will be a long night at the weather service. In northern Texas, four people were hospitalized after their vehicles were caught up in a tornado that hit late Tuesday, Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman said. The storms produced large hail.
The first siren sounded after a tornado reportedly touched down near Bloomfield in Greene County at 7:24 p.m.
