Additionally, the device will be fitted with a state of the art projector, which will be used to project the results of his or her sleep analysis on the wall, making it easier for the users to view.

The patent application has line art that shows a device that looks like an alarm clock capable of docking what appears to be a smartphone. That sensor information could include “sound information which is detected by a microphone, or image information which is captured by a camera”, the patent application describes. After several months of hard work, Nintendo has come up with a product that they claim to monitor the sleeping pattern of people and they have also registered a patent for such a device. Either way, Nintendo’s tracker will be equipped with sensors, microphone and a camera that will keep track of the user’s temperature and pulse rate, among other things. No one has been able to understand what functions this device will offer or its specifications but a few features are quite obvious.

It let users peruse video services and a TV guide from a handheld Gamepad controller, as well as offering tailored recommendations for users, The Verge reported. It was unclear as to what exactly Nintendo has up their sleeves, but that might have changed.

Nintendo said it planned to develop the technology with US health company ResMed, which now makes equipment for diagnosis and treatment of sleepdisorders.

There is no guarantee that the patent will become a reality, but the gadget may fit into Nintendo’s plans to launch Quality of Life (QOL) devices.

The company announced it last year in a financial briefing as a non-gaming hardware which will mark its entry into tech arena. This is not the first time when company has involved in measures aimed at improving the quality of life for the people.
