“I am confident that I can unite much of it, some of it I don’t want”, Mr Trump said on NBC’s Today show. “Almost, I say, not everything”, Trump said to laughter, then applause. “And I hope to”.

Carson told The Wall Street Journal, “We would consider people who are Americans and who put America first”.

Washington (CNN)The Republican rift over Donald Trump widened Friday as major GOP figures continued to pick sides over whether to support the billionaire businessman’s candidacy. Within hours of Mr. Kasich dropping out of the race, news broke that both George W. Bush and his father – the only two living Republican presidents – will likely not participate in the general election in support of Mr. Trump. “Our nominee has work to do”.

He made no mention of Ryan at the rally. In an interview recorded for Fox News Channel’s “Hannity”, he said Ryan and Trump “are meeting next week to talk about these things”.

A day after a decisive IN primary victory left Trump the sole GOP presidential contender standing, aides to House Speaker Paul Ryan and other top Republicans did not immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment.

Trump and Clinton also suffer from the fact that they are so well known, said Jeanne Zaino, a political scientist at Iona College. Marco Rubio in the GOP primary, but was not as critical of Trump as many establishment Republicans had been throughout the divisive primary.

“We need to get behind the Republican nominee”. He called a press conference last month to rule himself out, and Trump now looks set to gather the 1,237 delegate votes needed to clinch the nomination ahead of the July gathering in Cleveland, foreclosing the contested convention scenario.

“I will be voting against (Democrat Hillary) Clinton”.

“I, like many Republican leaders, underestimated the appeal of Trump and any Democrats who continue to underestimate Trump may do so at their own peril”.

“Means that you got to make sure their budgets add up, means that if they say they got an answer to a problem that it is actually plausible”, Obama said.

“He’s focused on an agenda”. It may have been a more effective tactic for dealing with his rivals – Trump frequently referring to Kasich as “a nice guy”, while lashing out at Cruz with names like “Lyin’ Ted”.

Trump and Ryan have publicly clashed in the past.

They spent at least $5.5 million trying to defeat him through the stop Trump effort, and Marlene Ricketts was the first major funder of the anti-Trump group, Our Principles PAC.
