In Victory, Trump Takes Aim at Clinton; GOP Chairperson Calls for Unity
Now Trump is 84 percent of the way to getting the 1,237 delegates he needs, and he needs just 37 percent of the remaining delegates to get there.

Sanders pulled a surprise win against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the May 3 in primary, but the senator has virtually no mathematical pathway to toppling her. Between the six Northeastern primaries that he swept beginning in New York April 19, Trump has picked up a whopping 240 delegates to Kasich’s 9 and Cruz’s 6. Barack Obama of IL was leading Clinton by 1,529 delegates to 1,424 and there were already calls for her to leave the race, according to CNN.
Clinton was joined at the meeting with community leaders by Reps.
Asked if he would step aside if he were offered the VP slot now, Sanders said, “I think that that is a hypothetical that will not happen”.
“So I’m going to do everything I can to stimulate political discourse in this country and get young people, working people, involved in the political process”, he said.
The effort is constrained by time and the numbers. However, Kasich has carried only one state – his home of OH – and remains fourth in delegates.
The states still to hold nominating contests have 1,114 delegates total, including unpledged superdelegates. “You mentioned the delegate math”.
Cruz’s announcement Tuesday night that he was pulling out of the race was a surprise to some but it was also the culmination of a weeklong string of disasters for his campaign.
That means based on primaries and caucuses to date, Clinton now has 1,682 and Sanders has 1,361.
“We always thought IN was a state that would absolutely be willing to listen to this message”, Pete D’Alessandro, a top Sanders operative who is overseeing his efforts IN IN, told the Guardian IN advance of the result. But Sanders told the Associated Press that he will continue his bid for the Democratic nomination. He endorsed Sanders on January 30 and has since appeared at his campaign rallies in the state.
However, the win could bolster Sanders’ pledge to stay in the race through the Democratic National Convention in July despite the claim by the Clinton campaign that the race was now over.
According to the Washington Post, 60 percent of Democratic voters who identified as “liberal” supported Sanders.

Marley is the exception to the rule.
-What percentage of remaining delegates do Clinton, Sanders need? The Nation’s Katha Pollitt explained this week why she couldn’t support Mr. Sanders: “The problem is less that Bernie focuses on class and economic inequality than that he doesn’t seem to understand that the economy, like society generally, is structured by gender and race”.
Instead, she has received emails, tweets, and Facebook messages from Sanders supporters trying to sway her. But she said many issues are resolved in negotiations before or at the convention.
The Sanders campaign has disavowed and discouraged volunteers from contacting superdelegates, but as Sanders has talked more about superdelegates, some have noticed increased outreach on social media and via e-mail. Sanders’ letter came after the candidate spoke with the chairwoman by phone earlier this week. She said that in recent weeks, the intensity of that outreach has increased. “I think everyone is operating in good faith and that we all want to achieve the same goal, which is to make sure the next president is a Democrat”.

And, remember, he needs two-thirds of all pledged delegates just for a pledged majority. He says climate change is a Chinese hoax, and I think it’s real.
