Former Oregon Ducks Defensive End DeForest Buckner has a new place to play on Sundays and he will have the weekend to celebrate with friends and family in Hawaii.

Stanford G Joshua Garnett was selected by the 49ers with the 28th overall pick after they traded back into the first round. With the No. 7 pick, the 49ers took defensive end DeForest Buckner out of Oregon.
“That’s actually one of my favorite memories”, Buckner said in his Friday arrival press conference. Was that sort of an arrangement that you had made with the 49ers that you would come there and workout and show what you can do beforehand? Garnett, if he starts, will immediately help the 49ers in short yardage and goal line because of his burst. On the plus side, at least they know the new uniforms won’t throw him off too much.
“And, so, when I found that out I wanted to go against him the whole game”, Buckner said.
“I’ve had some wow and I’ve had some lesser times and the time I want is holding that trophy up”, Jones said Monday.

But, the way that Stanford played pro-style football, teaches you kind of get off the ball. He will compliment Chip Kelly’s quick offense and serve as good protection for Colin Kaepernick. “We played together and had an awesome time”. He does that, and I think you’ll have yourself a really good defensive lineman who can disrupt throwing lanes and knock down passes.

“I know a lot of people kind of had me as a guy who was running the power scheme at Stanford a lot”, Garnett explained. You have to learn from the older guys, the guys who have been there already. This is the man who thought long and hard about selecting quarterback Johnny Manziel while on the clock in the first round in 2014 before backing down. Light went on as pass rusher in 2015.
