Gerardo Parra: O’s are ‘best bet’ to acquire Gerardo Parra
Several others, including FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal and MLB.com Orioles beat writer Brittany Ghiroli, seconded the report. Jon Heyman of CBS has since confirmed the deal and has said it is pending physicals.

The Orioles were looking to add a corner outfielder and land Parra after not discussing a deal for Justin Upton or Yoenis Cespedes. Parra entered the season as a highly paid fourth outfielder but has turned into a nice trade chip for the Brewers by batting.328/.369/.517 with nine homers and nine stolen bases.
Parra, 28, is eligible for free agency after this season.
In return, the Orioles will send Zack Davies to the Brewers. I expect him to be used in Right Field playing in tandem with Travis Snider against RHP. The 22-year-old is 5-6 with a 2.84 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 81 strikeouts in 19 games (18 starts) at Triple-A Norfolk.
Baseball America’s midseason prospect update ranked Davies as the eighth-best prospect in the Orioles’ farm system, noting that he “keeps hitters off-balance with an 88-92 miles per hour fastball and an above-average changeup while mixing in an average slider”.

Parra is going to the Orioles in exchange for a pitching prospect. Given his maturity on the mound, he could easily move into the Brewers rotation in September and be an immediate contributor. The Orioles get an outfield upgrade they badly needed but don’t have to include either Dylan Bundy, Hunter Harvey, or Kevin Gausman in the deal.
