Trump on Ryan snub: ‘I don’t know what

“American voters have made it clear that Washington is broken, but I’m not optimistic that either of the leading candidates for President will put us on a better course”.

Trump softened his tone on Ryan while speaking at a campaign event in Spokane, Washington, on Saturday. John McCain, the party’s 2008 nominee, said this week he would – albeit not with a full-throated endorsement – support Trump.

And although Trump has asked for the party to unite behind his campaign, several prominent Republican leaders have chosen not to support his candidacy.

The president also emphasized a need to properly vet all the candidates saying that Trump has a “long record that needs to be examined” and called on reporters in the media to properly vet candidates.

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said he will meet with House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday to discuss party unity.

Despite all the attacks on Trump for his hate speech, the front runner has been marching towards nomination of the GOP, which will be finalized in the 2016 Republican National Convention, set to be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Quicken Loans Arena from July 18 to 21. House Speaker Paul Ryan, who had a day earlier said he was not “yet ready” to support Mr. Trump, will be meeting with the nominee next week.

“In November, I will not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton”.

In what has been described as “a watershed moment” for the party as many top leaders distance themselves from Trump, former Kansas Sen. “I will not say, I will not say that he’s ‘low energy, ‘” Trump said, reviving his memorable nickname for the former Florida governor.

The goal is “to begin a discussion about the kind of Republican principles and ideas that can win the support of the American people this November”, said a statement from Ryan’s political office. “This is a contest for the presidency of the United States”, said Obama.

Trump responded to Graham later and said that he understood why he could not support him.

“I’m going to get Bernie (Sanders) people to vote, because they like me on trade”, he added, referring to the Democratic candidate in an uphill fight to clinch his party’s nomination instead of Hillary Clinton. This is not entertainment, this is not a reality show.

“Yesterday’s statement emboldens others to be equally publicly hard”.

“I do not believe he is a reliable Republican conservative nor has he displayed the judgment and temperament to serve as commander in chief”, he said in a statement.
