Donald Trump Doesn’t Think Republican Party ‘Has to be Unified’

Here locally, while the Republicans and Democrats settled on their gubernatorial candidates, Libertarians actually had a contest between longtime party activist and construction company owner Rex Bell of Wayne County and Fishers businessman Jim Wallace, who sought the GOP nomination in 2012. Marco Rubio until he also dropped out of the race.

One answer: the program House Speaker Paul Ryan plans to unveil next month, aimed at giving GOP congressional candidates a list of conservative policies they can campaign on, whether they correspond to Trump’s positions or not.

Trump’s first response was to escalate the fight.

Trump transitioned to praising those who have endorsed him, such as former presidential candidate Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Dick Cheney. Having campaigned for the Republican nomination on a platform of cracking down on immigration and foreign trade, Trump now trails Hillary Clinton in general election polls and can not afford an exodus of voters, from the Republican base.

But seriously, folks, when you take a good look at what’s been happening at the national level and-to a lesser degree-the state level, third-party candidates are starting to look a lot better to a lot more people. Trump made what he appeared to believe was an overture in that direction Thursday by tweeting a photo of himself eating a taco bowl in celebration of Cinco de Mayo and declaring his love for Hispanics. “This is not a reality show”, President Barack Obama said Friday when asked about Trump’s ascension.

If Clinton has a consistently large lead, Trump won’t get the 90-plus percent of the Republican vote that his predecessor nominees got. “And I want to, but I think what is required is that we unify this party”.

“I wish he were a smarter guy than this”, Biden said. Nor did it say they will support the same person in every state.

“I will tell you this: People are slow to warm to the idea in southern Minnesota”, Miller said.

Acknowledging it would be popular to say he’d rip up the deal, Trump says instead he’d seek to renegotiate it and “police” Iran for violations.

“The thing that matters most are the millions of people that have come out to vote for me and give me a landslide victory in nearly every state”, Trump said moments after Ryan announced their planned meeting. Donald Trump says he was really surprised by House Speaker Paul Ryan’s rebuff of him as the presumptive Republican presidential. There’s also Trump’s choice for vice president, which may be the only way he could mend the divisions within the party. Republicans won the popular vote only one of those times, in 2004, and when they did they carried 93 percent of Republican voters.

Trump has said that if he’s elected, he’ll terminate Obama’s immigration actions and build a wall on the border with Mexico.

A 2014 study by Pew Research Center found that Democrats and Republicans have shown increasingly negative views toward each other over the past few decades. “And I hope to, though, and I want to”.

Priebus said Trump called him within minutes of Ryan’s interview and solicited advice on how to proceed. When Ryan said that Trump had “inherited” something very special with the Republican party, the presumptive nominee blasted back that he hadn’t “inherited” anything, ‘I won it with millions of voters!’
