National Basketball Association admits ref errors in Spurs-Thunder thriller

“On the floor, we did not see a foul on the play”, National Basketball Association referee Ken Maurer said postgame to reporter Mike Monroe of The Rivard Report. “It’s a play that we have never seen before, ever”. They also cited two missed foul calls on Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard that occurred after Waiters threw the ball into play.

On Tuesday, the referees union wrote on Twitter that it had never seen the play before and would incorporate it into its training moving forward.

With the Thunder ahead, 98-97, and 13.5 seconds remaining, Dion Waiters reached across the boundary to made contact with Manu Ginobili before he inbounded the ball.

“I don’t know what it is, what type of violation it is”. “It’s got to be something”. But again, it’s not that play that decided anything. “That first basket didn’t go in, and that was a step in the right direction for us after what happened last game”, said Kevin Durant.

On the back-end of that play, a fan seemed to grab Thunder forward Steven Adams as he was falling out of bounds and trying to get back in the play. It doesn’t matter. It’s over. We’re not gonna be able to change it. Nobody’s gonna change it. It’s 1-1.

As the Thunder prepare for game three, they’re attacking with the desperation of a team 0-2, realizing that even though the battlefield is level, there’s still plenty of room for improvement.

The Oklahoma City Thunder hope to take control of this series by winning and going up 2-1.

“Something certainly happened on the sideline, I thought”, said Gregg Popovich.

“It feels awful”, Aldridge said.

It was an insane Game 2 ending between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunders on Monday night as the Spurs lost their home-court advantage, letting the Thunders get away with a 98-97 victory.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free throw line. “Made plays, made shots and came out with the win”.

While many will focus on the inbound no-call (how does the official miss that?), the Spurs still had a great look.

The Oklahoma City Thunder centre recorded yet another playoff double-double, pulling down 17 rebounds and scoring 12 points, converting five of his six shot attempts.
