Trump interested in vetting John Kasich as his deputy

THE last man standing in Donald Trump’s path to the Republican nomination, Ohio Governor John Kasich is set to end his campaign, making Mr Trump the party’s presumptive nominee.

His likely opponent will be Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, who lost the IN primary to Bernie Sanders.

However, moments after Cruz’s concession speech, Dallas Rep. Jason Villalba posted on Twitter that Trump was a “horrible human being” and would be the “death of the Republican Party”.

Clinton, former secretary of state and the front-runner to win the Democratic nomination, said Trump needs to offer policy specifics in the general election on November 8 and criticised him for his positions on issues including nuclear weapons and abortion.

“The people of our country changed me, they changed me with the stories of their lives”, Kasich concluded. I don’t even want certain people that were extraordinarily nasty.

Kasich’s departure comes one day after Ted Cruz dropped out, following a disappointing finish in Indiana.

Kasich had only won one state: OH, where he is the governor. About 46 per cent said they would vote for her mostly because they don’t want to see a Trump presidency, while 40 per cent said they agreed with her political positions, and 11 per cent said they liked her personally. But Starr says to get his support, the NY billionaire would have to surround himself with seasoned, high-quality advisors.

Now the question is whether those GOP officials who backed Kasich will endorse Trump, as he assumes the role of the apparent Republican nominee.

But in a series of Wednesday morning television interviews, Mr Trump, 69, made clear he would not forget some wounds from a tumultuous primary campaign in which many establishment Republicans rejected him and spawned Stop Trump and Never Trump movements.

Hillary Clinton says Donald Trump is a “loose cannon” the U.S. should not take a risk on. “He’s always eating”, Trump said.

Support for Trump among Republicans nationally jumped in recent weeks to the highest level of the primary campaign, according to Reuters/Ipsos polling.

California came close this time, but, once again, the Golden State will not matter much in the major parties’ presidential nomination process, especially of the Republicans.
