Torch carried by Jenner to be auctioned
The auction featured a variety of collectable sports memorabilia items, including a New York Yankees game jersey worn by Mickey Mantle in 1966 that sold for US$322,650 and the shoes worn by Muhammad Ali in the 1975 “Thrilla in Manila” bout against Joe Frazier.

It will be the first Jenner-related memorabilia to go on sale since Jenner, formerly Bruce, revealed her female identity earlier this year.
The Bruce Jenner – now Caitlyn – in 1984 with the Olympic torch up for auction.
Jenner had been approached by hotel Caesars Tahoe to carry the torch as a part of its agenda to give back to the community and support local youth programs. It’s estimated to bring about $20,000. “Jenner has played both gender roles masterfully”.
The torch, which was purchased by an anonymous Midwest collector, was among the highlights of the auction held by Heritage Auctions in Chicago. Jenner was asked to run the remaining 1,000 meters.
The card was consigned for auction by Florence Sasso, 75, a descendant of McMahon’s. “She gave it to me because no one else wanted it”.
