Middlesbrough will play in the Premier League next season, after a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion confirmed their return to the top flight.

Karanka’s men finished their season with an unbeaten run of 10 games, although four draws in their last four outings ensured they were made to sweat a little more than they originally would have thought.
Karanka said: “For the club it’s good because to be in the Premier League is important but for me it means more to the people, because this area deserves to enjoy”.
Aitor Karanka was left to revel in Middlesbrough’s promotion to the Premier League after critics said his ambitions were “crazy”.
“There are just 20 privileged managers who can be in the Premier league”.
Despite talk of £200million jackpots, the 23-year-old Gibson knows the true value of promotion more than most having been an integral part of his home-town club since first signing youth forms at the age of 12.
“It’s a brilliant way to finish – if someone said at the start of the season you have a home game against the team in third place to go up then you would take it”.
Striker David Nugent told Sky Sports: “It’s a great feeling”.
“While the short-term priority is usually investment in the playing squad, a strong emphasis on ongoing financial stability can leave a club well positioned for the future – whether or not they survive that first season”.
“I have no problems with referees and officials working together as a team but if that’s the case they’ve got to get the decisions right and on this occasion they didn’t do that”.
The red rules Stephens out of the playoffs, where Brighton will now face Sheffield Wednesday.
“It will be a landmark weekend for generations to come if they can do it and we will look back at this moment as the moment that changed the city for the better”.

“We still believe that we can do it and we’ve got the team spirit to go with it”.
