Released in 2006, Civil War was and still is the biggest event ever published by Marvel, and it shook up their comic book universe every bit as massively as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been altered by the events of this first Phase 3 release.

This time around, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) goes up against Tony “Iron Man” Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) over a superhero responsibility accord that would criminalize independent action, forcing their fellow heroes to choose sides.

The fans have spoken (1,000 of them, anyway, on this poll), and now we just have to wait and see if Marvel listens.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of the comics or the movies, you will definitely not want to miss this one.

It also stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13Don Cheadle as War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.

It’s extremely hard to create a movie like “Civil War”, in which so many characters (established and new, by movie standards) must have a chunk of screen time for the audience to get sucked in.

For the directors, part of the appeal in telling a true Captain America story is the accessibility of the character, who fights bad guys with only his enhanced strength and vibranium shield. “He’s basically a man, only a little more so. On set, we had him straining against a crane holding this helicopter, and you have this fantastic shot of his muscles bulging and you can feel the pain and the energy and the determination as he tries to stop this thing”.
