Arrest made in hit-and-run death of MMA fighter in Florida
Outside of a grainy video that showed Wright’s SUV moving at a high rate of speed right before Parsons was fatally struck, the Delray Beach Police Department had little else to go off of. He was also charged with driving while his license was suspended as a habitual offender and tampering with evidence.

Wright was driving his mother’s Range Rover south on Federal.
Parsons’ mother, Anna Morsaw, who was at his side at the hospital for four days while he was in a coma, said she hopes Wright is punished for his actions.
Following the incident, Doctors amputated one of Parsons legs in an attempt to save his life, but he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, May 4th.
Parsons had been scheduled to face Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 on May 14th.
Delray Beach police officers have arrested a 25-year-old man whose license was suspended for the fatal crash that killed mixed martial arts fighter Jordan Parsons.
Dennie Wright, 28, is facing multiple charges, including leaving the scene of a crash causing death. They asked for the public’s help in identifying a 2012-2013 silver Range Rover Sport with a missing driver-side mirror and damage to the driver’s side headlight and bumper area. Parsons was walking across Federal Highway at Lindell Boulevard. His license was suspended at the time of the crash, according to police.
Police said witnesses told investigators Wright was driving between 100 and 120 miles an hour (160-193 kph) when he plowed into Parsons, who was wearing headphones and may not have heard the SUV coming.
The Range Rover had substantial damage to its front end, and Wright tried to get a body mechanic to fix it, police said. He died of his injuries on May 4.
On May 2, an anonymous tipster provided Wright’s name to investigators.
Along with arrests for DUI, Wright has been arrested for disorderly intoxication, marijuana possession and assault on a police officer or firefighter, the Delray police said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. It is not known if Wright was intoxicated while driving but police say he was at Buddha Sky Bar on East Atlantic Avenue that evening.
