Microsoft Edge users can now block advertising with AdBlock Plus

Of course, retail users will get it in the summer when the Anniversary Update finally sees daylight with many other feature improvements for both Edge and the rest of the operating system. With Adblock, Microsoft intends to provide its users with a safe way to browse the web.

Screenshots we posted earlier today reveal some visual changes coming in Windows 10 Mobile build 14342, and it’s believed that this version, or another one slightly newer, could ship to users with new icons, Edge swipe navigation support, and options to associate apps with websites. If you miss the cut off, an update to Microsoft’s latest will set you back AUD$179 for Windows 10 Home, or AUD$299 for Windows 10 Pro.

To have this feature installed in your EDGE browser, you will need to follow the same kind of steps that you normally follow to install extension pack on your Firefox or Google Chrome browser.

Opera’s developer browser has a built-in VPN mode for free.

As for AdBlock and AdBlock Plus, they were each first announced for Edge some two month ago.

As ad-blocking tools have been among the most requested extensions for Edge, this will likely make many Windows 10 users happy, or at least those in the Insider program. Their services include plenty of features common from other browsers.
