Footnotes. Sunday’s attendance in San Francisco totaled 41,593 – the Giants 426th consecutive regular-season shutout.

Matt Duffy doubled home the winning run with two out in the bottom of the 13th inning Saturday to give the Giants a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
“I think it’s fair to say the last few games he’s out of sync”, Bochy said. When you’re hitting homers, sometimes you get in the habit of dipping and you pop up. “You just try to keep it off the sweet spot and get him out”. “We’re down to our last pitcher, so it’s harder to get a bigger hit than Duffy got today”.
San Francisco’s Albert Suarez made his major league debut with a scoreless ninth inning. Arenado’s two-out drive soared over Hunter Pence’s head and bounced off the base of the arcade for a triple. “I felt strong and I strung together a lot of good pitches, but four or five changed the outcome of the game”, the 25-year-old Virginian told reporters.
Nolan Arenado, baseball’s home run leader, fell one shy Sunday. The Rockies had a better day at the plate with 12 hits while San Francisco put up 7.
Colorado nearly had a rally going in the top half of the 13th when Nolan Arenado walked and Parra followed with a bouncer up the middle.
This wasn’t bad for a half-inning of work.
Denard Span had three hits for the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night, but it was hardly noticeable in the 17-7 defeat to the Colorado Rockies.
Arenado was initially ruled safe but the Giants challenged and the call was overturned on replay.
“That was huge, ” Duffy said.
The Giants loaded the bases with one out in the second, but Mac Williamson struck out swinging against Rockies starter Eddie Butler, and Samardzija went down looking.
The game was scoreless until the 10th. San Francisco tied it on Crawford’s single in the bottom of the inning.
Although he returned to Kansas City in 2012 and started six games, Mazzaro has pitched sparingly since that night. The first-year Giant twice struck out the side and issued just one walk.
Gray was lifted with two out in the eighth for pinch hitter Ben Paulsen, who promptly grounded to second on the first pitch he saw off Cueto.
“I love facing those guys”, Samardzija said. “I just want to put up zeroes and the team win”. I have to go back and watch the film to see exactly how that went down, but they’re smart hitters.
The game had begun as a pitchers’ duel between right-handers Jon Gray of the Rockies and Johnny Cueto of the Giants.
McGee earned his eighth of 10 available saves this season.
Belt hit a fluke single to start the ninth when he tried to stop his bat and hit a roller up the third base line.
“He threw the ball great. I’m going to go out and compete”.
Giants: IF Joe Panik (groin) may return to the starting lineup as early as Friday, a week after tweaking his groin in a game against the New York Mets. If not, then it is possible Pagan could be headed for the disabled list.

The Rockies’ offense got going in the first inning, as Trevor Story doubled and Arenado hit a two-out triple that bounced off the base of the wall in right-center field. The Colorado Rockies have an ERA of 5.20 and have lost 10 of their last 12 games when allowing more than three runs.
