Bernie Sanders: The Democratic National Convention Will Be Contested
Democratic presidential candidates former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen.

Instead, most of the money from the Hillary Victory Fund – a joint fund-raising committee made up of the Democratic National Committee and 32 state party committees – have been transferred quickly to the Democratic National Committee by a Clinton staffer. For his plan to work, he’ll need plenty of big-time breaks.
The drop-off for Sanders coincides with the narrowing of his chances to defeat Clinton, who remains far ahead of him in overall votes and delegates.
Maddow closed her segment on Clinton and Sanders by providing her email to viewers who may disagree with her, saying that swear words and accusations may hurt her, but they only make her stronger. “We have won, at this point, 45 percent of pledged delegates, but we have only earned 7 percent of superdelegates”. Redistributing superdelegates in proportion to states won, he’d still be way behind in superdelegates.
And the past few weeks have demonstrated that she has a lot of material to pull from.
She remains 218 delegates short. The Sanders campaign did not say how much it has on hand.
Though theyve been part of Democratic presidential elections since 1984, the superdelegates have never been a determining factor for the nomination because theyve never overturned the candidate that leads nationally in pledged delegates. That means Clinton won’t be able to win all 235 from May. And with superdelegates representing 20% of all delegates back then (it’s now 15%), Obama certainly didn’t have a majority with just pledged delegates alone in that very tight ’08 race.
Hillary Clinton has a problem.
520 have already said they intend to vote for Hillary and an outrageously low 39 delegates have said they intend to vote for Bernie.
“If I win a state with 70 percent of the vote, you know what?”
“A typical Sanders donor is 27 years old”.
Hoosier State Democrats and Republicans go to the polls Tuesday, with the fate of Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders hanging in the balance and things not looking entirely promising for either in their respective primary. The same is true for states like Colorado and New Hampshire. Last is the District of Columbia on June 14.
“Sure, Sanders could win California, the biggest prize remaining, but by enough to capture 65 percent of its delegates?” “Based on demographic models of the voting so far, Clinton is likely to beat Sanders by comfortable margins in California and New Jersey, which are home to most of the delegates that remain at stake”.
Of particular interest, Sanders pointed to states where he was successful at earning voters’ support, though party officials from those states are nevertheless backing Clinton. Barack Obama eight years ago. Doing worse than that in any primary or caucus would require Sanders to win even bigger in primaries and caucuses after that.
He’s calling on superdelegates to cast their votes “in line with the people of their states”. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to switch their support.
In Washington state, for example, he said he won the caucuses with almost 73 percent of the vote against Ms. Clinton, characterizing the outcome as “a massive landslide”.
Clinton, in Indianapolis, did not bother mentioning Sanders’ name.
