IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook hopes he and bitter rival Amir Khan are just one fight away from facing each other in an all British world title clash at Wembley Stadium in London, England, in 2016.

The 28 year-old is hoping to meet old training partner Manny Pacquiao in the spring of next year, before finally facing Brook – although with the added stipulation that “The Special One” takes out two high calibre opponents in the meantime.
Hearn said he messaged Khan when they attended Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla’s fights in Manchester last weekend, and the former world champion has now expanded on that conversation. Let’s see how that develops…
“Frankly from scale 1 to 100, it’s still 50-50 in my chances to run for senator in 2016 although I must admit I have plans… but it will all depend on the plans and wishes of our creator for me”, Pacquiao told The Philippine Star. “It looks like British fans might finally get the fight that is well overdue”. Khan even says that he’s now had some discussions with Brook’s promoter, Eddie Hearn. The undefeated boxer has been campaigning for “King Khan” to fight him.
“I told him Kell needs to fight a couple of big names and beat them, obviously”. It would seem to me that now is a good time to make that fight, particularly since so much can happen between now and next year – and being that many see this as a toss-up fight, the competitive nature doesn’t need to marinate.

After repeatedly calling out Khan, Brook has welcomed news of the negotiations and is confident the fight can replicate the success of Carl Froch-George Groves II, which drew a crowd of around 80,000 to the national stadium.
