US Capitol Police: Vehicle hits barricade, driver in custody
U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman Lt. Kimberly Schneider said in an email Friday that Antonio Pierorazio has been charged with felony destruction of property and unlawful entry.

A red Nissan Altima attempted to crash the barricade outside the U.S. Capitol building by driving full speed into the barrier Friday morning. Authorities say to “avoid the area until further notice”. The D.C. Fire Department is on scene, and there are street closures in effect in the immediate surrounding area.
Police say the driver, the only person in the vehicle, was taken into custody and is being processed at headquarters.

On April 15, Douglas Hughes, a 61-year-old Florida postal worker, was arrested after he landed a gyrocopter at the U.S. Capitol to protest campaign finance laws.
