Trump as nominee improves odds for parts of Obama’s legacy
House Speaker Paul Ryan says he’d step down as co-chairman of the Republican National Convention if presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump asked him to.

“She’s been the total enabler, she would go after these women and destroy their lives”, he said in OR over the weekend.
Ryan’s willingness to cede his position at the convention, originally reported by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, follows his announcement last week that the speaker could not support Trump until the businessman changes his tone and embraces Republican principles.
Mr Trump said Mr Ryan “blindsided” him by declining to endorse him.
Clinton this week in an interview to CNN described Trump as a loose cannon, while President Barack Obama has called for a scrutiny of the presumptive nominee’s policies and record.
Trump’s fiercely anti-trade rhetoric is also at odds with the views of Ryan and many other pro-business Republicans.
“It kind of screws his chances for the 2020 presidential bid that he’s gunning for”, Palin said of Ryan.
But Sen McCain said it would take a lot to ever stand on stage next to him after Mr Trump’s comments last July that he prefers people who don’t get captured in war.
“I want to be part of that unifying process, and that’s why I invited Donald to meet with me and other leaders in D.C. this week to begin talking to each other to figure out how we unify this party”. Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said “Ryan disputed the time of the call, not the call itself”.
But Rice University political scientist Bob Stein says much of the Texas convention will boil down to damage control.
“It’s only retribution for what she said”. Like his new boss Trump, Mnuchin has a record of giving both to Republicans and Democrats _ including Clinton during her 2008 presidential run. “Very interesting. I could be making a speech for an hour and they never show the extent of the crowd”. Ryan and Trump are set to meet this week, and Priebus wants them to patch things up.
“If we go forward pretending that we’re unified, then we are going to be at half-strength this fall”, said Ryan, R-Wis., whose district includes Racine County.
“He was”, Trump said.
Be proactive – Use the “Flag as Inappropriate” link at the upper right corner of each comment to let us know of abusive posts. “I actually don’t think so”. But if the speaker really meant what he said, the only way he could support Trump is if the billionaire withdrew from the race.
During a political rally in Spokane, Washington, he said that Hillary Clinton’s hands were never clean when it comes to abusing women, and that’s because of her glaring silence over Bill Clinton’s numerous dalliances while still in the White House.
