Whiteside ruled out of Game 4 of Miami-Toronto series
He hit a floater with 6:24 to go, made another with 4:11 to play, a layup with a foul with 3:42 left and and then tied it at 83 with 12.6 seconds left when he drove past DeMarre Carroll, took flight past Cory Joseph and found the basket for the lay-in. Joseph and DeRozan scored the team’s only baskets, before Goran Dragic converted a three-point play with 22 seconds left and Wade grabbed a Raptors turnover for a bucket that sealed the Heat’s victory.

The Slovenia native also mentioned that he will be talking to coach Spoelstra regarding his benching.
Now the series heads back to Toronto for Game 5 on Wednesday, and returns to Miami for Game 6.
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been ruled out for Monday night’s Game 4 matchup against the Toronto Raptors, the team has announced.
“He’s been playing so well”, Lowry said. “[Before Game 3] it kind of started a little later than it did when we were in Canada [for Games 1 and 2], we started with, like, 12:30 on the [pre-game] clock with the late start”. Spoelstra said his “full intention” was to play Winslow, but the rotation changed after Whiteside left the game early in the second quarter. His fiery statement seems to have fueled an even more determined Whiteside to help widen Heat’s lead in the best-of-seven series.
And in the end, that’s where the Heat won the battle with its small lineup. Portland became the first team to beat Golden State twice this season, and it’s unknown if the Warriors will have MVP Stephen Curry back from his knee injury in time for Game 4.
Miami had a 9 point lead at halftime, but surrendered all of it in the 3rd quarter.
TNT will broadcast the game at 7 p.m. Central, 8 p.m. Eastern.
Although losing Jonas hurts them deeply, having Lowry and Derozan both in a bit of a groove the Raptors are still in the drivers seat. The Heat then had no assists for the next 18:26….
It’s rare that such statements would make any simultaneous sense, but in this case they seem to apply.
The Heat lost 95-91; Wade scored a game-high 38 points.
Now it’s up to Miami to find a way at home to knot the series. “All eyes were on me and I wasn’t going to force anything”. “This going to be one of those tough series that’s going to go down to the last minute”.

The third quarter did not start off as well as the first half ended for Miami. In Miami, you can say the same for Luol Deng and Joe Johnson, but another worrying sign is the amount of minutes some of these players are getting: The Heat, missing both Chris Bosh and Whiteside, aren’t built to have Deng, Wade, Dragic and Johnson spend 40 minutes or around that each night on the floor.
