Warriors G Stephen Curry wins 2nd straight MVP
Golden State point guard Stephen Curry could return to action against Portland on Monday in Game Four of their Western Conference semi-final series after being put on the active list following a two-week absence due to a sprained right knee. He finished the game with 40 points – including 27 in the fourth-quarter and overtime – to help the Warriors take the 3-1 series lead.

Stephen Curry is the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive season, CSNBayArea.com confirmed through multiple league sources Monday morning.
Curry led the Warriors to an NBA-record 73 wins in the regular season, a year after leading the team to its first National Basketball Association championship in 40 years.
The Warriors now lead the series 3-1 with Game Five scheduled for Wednesday in Oakland. That goes for more than just scoring the ball.
Both Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Toronto Raptors ace Kyle Lowry stepped up when their teams needed them the most, causing the most unpredictable outcome of the second round of the playoffs.
PORTLAND, Ore. – Moments before Warriors head coach Steve Kerr walked into the interview room for his pregame news conference Monday night, a roar could be heard from the Moda Center court. Sure, he had 23 points in 31 minutes in his first game back after suffering a sprained MCL in his right leg roughly two weeks ago, shot just 10-of-25 from the field and 2-of-13 from three.
Curry’s return comes as a person with knowledge of the award tells The Associated Press that Curry will repeat as NBA MVP, with the announcement coming as early as Tuesday. “He’s got unlimited range, and he can shoot off the dribble and come off screens and shoot step-backs”. “I mean, he looked fresh”.

“We want to go out there and make sure they respect us, make sure they understand it’s not going to be what everybody thinks it’s going to be”, Lillard said. They lost Klay Thompson on baseline screens, and then came Curry. Kerr also added that while there had been talk about Curry potentially campaigning to come back, that Curry’s return to the floor has simply worked out. Curry had missed a week with a bad ankle in the opening-round series, played less than a half and hurt the knee. I am so proud of you! “He’s something that we’ve never seen before”, said Allen Iverson, the 2001 MVP.
