The FBI has just become involved in the search for Carlie Marie Trent-a 9-year-old girl kidnapped by her uncle last week in Rogersville, Tennessee. Her uncle, Gary Simpson, does not have custodial rights to Trent and warrants have been issued for Simpson for kidnapping. She was last seen wearing a black and grey tank top with blue jeans.
Gary Simpson is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 157 pounds. He has thinning brown hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen driving a white 2002 Dodge Conversion van with TN registration 173 Global Positioning System.
Authorities are looking for this white, 2002 Dodge Conversion van with Tennessee license plate 173-GPS.
Carlie Trent is 4-feet 8-inches tall and weighs 75 pounds.
However, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation maintains there has been no confirmed sighting of Carlie, Simpson or the van at this time.
In the surveillance video uploaded by officials, Gary Simpson is showed buying non-perishable food along with camping gear.
“Tennessee and the contiguous states will only issue an Amber Alert if there is verifiable information that the child is actually in one of those states”, said TBI spokesman Josh DeVine. Paint is chipping off the hood. Devine also encouraged people who own rural pieces of land to go for a drive on their property and look for anything suspicious.
There have been possible sightings of Carlie Trent in 11 states, but no real evidence about her location.
During a briefing on Monday night, Devine said the number of tips had increased to more than 500 tips.
The TBI released video showing Simpson at an area Wal-Mart purchasing outdoor gear before he picked up Carlie from school.

If see the van or see Carlie and Simpson, call 911. Authorities in Idaho will stay in contact with those in Tennessee and issue an alert immediately if requested to do so. Her pediatrician is also offering a $10,000 reward, according the bureau.
