He continued: “I’m not in this sport because I’m afraid”.

“I won’t retire”, he said. “But I have many more qualities, and people saw that”. As it happened, the Mexican timed his fight to perfection. It was obvious that after the 4th round, Amir Khan began to fade. He fought in spurts, landing combinations and seemingly frustrating Alvarez with his movement.
On sheer timing and unprecedented punching power, Alvarez knocked Khan out cold in the sixth round with a devastating right cross.
“I think it’s time for Canelo to get into the ring with GGG”, he said, per Bad Left Hook. I was unfortunate that I didn’t make it to the end, but I tried my best.
After taking a couple of minutes to gather his senses, Khan, confirmed he will move back down to welterweight. The fight also made Canelo Alvarez retain his middleweight title after grabbing it from Miguel Cotto six months ago.
“We don’t come to play in this sport, I fear no one in this sport”.
After the fight, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman had a conversation with Khan.
The fight itself had been going reasonably well for Khan in the opening rounds as he fought from distance and frustrated Alvarez at times.
Although defeated, Khan did not really harm his reputation in his loss to Alvarez.
Khan leaves the ring, apparently suffering no lasting damage from his KO.
Canelo vs. Khan was the most searched item in the United States on Saturday.
Mexico’s Alvarez was so afraid after landing the knockout punch, he walked near Khan, kneeled and prayed.
Khan was the clear underdog for the fight with the physically bigger Mexican, who at just 25 years old had won 46 of his 48 fights – his sole defeat coming against the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr.
“I’m a natural 147 (pounds) fighter, but this challenge came and it was very hard to turn down”, he said.
Khan said he’ll return to 147 pounds and fight in the welterweight division for his next bout.
