FA to investigate violence at West Ham’s final Boleyn match
Manchester United’s defeat by West Ham on Tuesday night was good news for Arsenal, who again qualified for Champions League football under Arsene Wenger.

“West Ham is a family club and the vast majority of fans attended Tuesday’s final game to respectfully say Farewell Boleyn”.
Kickoff was delayed by 45 minutes.
“We are aware that a number of items were thrown towards Manchester United’s coach this evening”, the police said in a statement, PA reported.
“This morning I have already tasked my senior team to work with the police to identify them as their behaviour belongs in the past and not in a future that promises so much for our great Club”.
West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan initially blamed United for the delay to kick-off, saying they should have arrived earlier at the ground, but on Wednesday he backtracked.
“With this team this season, I don’t ever feel like we’re going to lose – apart from Saturday when we were 4-1 down with two minutes to play”.
“Those who chose to behave unacceptably will be dealt with in the strongest way possible, with life bans for those guilty of violence”, she added.
Home fans hurled bottles at Manchester United’s team coach, with a Met Police spokesman confirming four officers and a member of the public were injured during the disorder.
Play was broken up in the middle and Rashford played the ball out to Martial, whose burst took him past Reid and the striker’s cross-shot beat the West Ham goalkeeper at the near post.
“I want to be clear – their behaviour was completely unacceptable and does not represent our Club or our values”.
Although the United and England winger seems to be making light of the situation, the seriousness of the attack can not be underestimated – with West Ham, the FA and the Metropolitan Police all analysing footage from the attack.
With Louis van Gaal’s men looking like taking the points, West Ham stepped up a gear and besieged United’s penalty area with set-pieces.
Footage filmed on the coach by Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard showed the players shouting, screaming, laughing and hiding on the floor as the coach was hit by objects thrown outside the ground.
“I’m sure West Ham as a club will be disappointed with what the fans have done”.
West Ham are moving to the nearby Olympic Stadium at the end of season and a farewell ceremony followed Tuesday’s game.
“I think the police and officials have been kind”.
“Second half, they came back as they have class but we showed character and we knew all the time that we can hurt them and that’s what we did”.

“I think the disappointment is because we were 2-1 ahead”. No arrests have been made over criminal damage to the bus but three men were arrested during the game, including one for fighting and two for entering the field.
