Former ‘Top Gear’ Hosts Unveil Name of Amazon Show
The (in) famous former Top Gear presenter trio: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, who last summer signed to Amazon’s Prime video streaming platform to make a new auto show to be screen on its platform this year, have revealed what it’s going to be called – and it’s The Grand Tour.

The Grand Tour will launch this autumn and will be available to watch exclusively by Amazon Prime members.
Hammond and May, always the straight men to Clarkson’s entertainer, offered their underwhelming-to-cloying responses about the name as well.
“Well, that took a while…”, said Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Video Europe. We cant wait to see how the new guys fare on the subscription streaming service, but one thing seems for certain: Amazon is giving them a pretty free reign when it comes to producing and promoting the new series. We needed a name, and they’re names’.
Hammond on the other hand was thrilled, especially about the idea of a tent: “I already love camping”, he enthused, “But this is something else”.
Clarkson asked for input from fans, and their joking suggestions included House of Cars (when it was rumored that Netflix could pick up the show), Gear Knobs, or Dipsticks.
Fortunately, Richard Hammond sounds more positive, both about the name, and the trio’s move to on-demand programming.
Amazon said its customers around the world would have the chance to be in the audience when tickets are released through prize draws in the summer.
While the details of where the global tent segments will be filmed have not yet been revealed, the show’s producers said that the location schedule will be announced shortly. Here’s all you need to know about The Grand Tour, Clarkson’s new series on Amazon Prime.
